Excellent steaks in a historic setting. I had dinner there with my family and everyone loved it. The waiters were friendly and efficient, the room had a great atmosphere and the food was excellent. The steaks were cooked to the proper temperatures and came with a nice 'jus'. The portions were larger than expected so consider sharing. Make sure to try the desserts, especially the chocolate cake with orange.
Classic old-school steakhouse with red leather booth seating, timeless cocktails, bar seating and wood paneled walls. A gracious host seats you, gets to know your name, and checks on you throughout your meal using your name, a nice touch that made us feel special. The pacing of the meal was never rushed, the cocktails came served with a shaker keeping our drinks nicely chilled. Excellent service and meal. The walls of each booth were high, providing tons of intimacy and making us feel like we had the place to ourselves. However, some may find this booth style a bit claustrophobic as you don’t have an open vantage point of the anywhere in restaurant (at least the area we were in). This set up is perfect for those wanting to stay incognito as Hollywood stars have been known to frequent this place.
My wife and I have eaten here five times and have been delighted each time. We eat here every time we have a staycation at The Hollywood Roosevelt. Musso & Frank is an easy walk from the hotel. The diners line up for the 5:00 opening time and are greeted and seated by the friendly staff. Our server (Alex) was attentive. My wife enjoyed the special of the day: chicken pot pie. Best she's ever eaten in her life, no disrespect to her grandmother. I had a petite filet, and we shared a side of asparagus. Portions are generous, especially the pot pie, and we left with to-go boxes. Our Italian wine was delicious: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (2016).
One of the very last of check classic Hollywood restaurants! This place does good business because the food, drinks, location and most important the service are all first rate- I try to make sure I get in there every time I get back to Los Angeles!
